Well, we have made it through our first week, although at times we weren't sure we were going to. Our minds have been in overload with all the new things we have had to learn and it has not been difficult to question if our old minds could wrap themselves around so many new things. The Tanners, the couple that we replaced, were great to try and cover everything in such a short time.
Elder and Sister Tanner
They left at noon on Thursday, so we had a little experience in being on our own. Somehow we made it through. Actually, Friday went pretty well and we have renewed conviction that we can do this assignment. We know we are where the Lord wants us and that is a big help. President and Sister Simpson and the young missionaries are great. We know we are going to enjoy working with them. The office is very comfortable and warm (an important thing in the cold Northeast). Let us take you on a tour of the office:
This is the reception area with Sister Foley manning the desk (that is frightening).
More of the reception area
and this is Elder Foley hard at work
This is the Mission Assistants' work area
The conference room
The Mail Room (the missionaries love that)
and the kitchen
And this is the office of President Craig W. Simpson, our mission president
We have had a good weekend, catching up on some rest, shopping, organizing our apartment, and meeting with some great Saints at Church. We are excited and ready to do all we can to help the kingdom move forward in Atlantic Canada.
Oooh, I recognize that blue sweater. It looks so pretty on you! I'm sure it is all overwhelming at first, but you will do great! It looks like a very nice place to be.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! So much fun to see where you are so I can picture it better.
ReplyDeleteWOW...everything looks so efficient and organized. Looks like you both have been there forever!! We are very proud of you!!
ReplyDeleteSooo, what is the outside temperature like and are you living close to the ocean?
ReplyDeleteVicky, it is COLD! The temperature has gone as high as 32 and as low as 6 but it is very humid and almost always a cold wind. We are surrounded by lakes and a bay of the Atlantic Ocean, the ocean is probably 2 miles away.
ReplyDeletethis is another nice blog for you to have! these are great pictures already! don't forget to put anne and gilbert on your blog! you are fabulous missionaries! have a wonderful time!
