Farewell to the Beautiful Maritimes

The last week in the mission field went so quickly.  There were so many people to say goodbye to and so many wonderful friends we had made while serving.  There was also so much work to do packing up the apartment that we had called our home and that we had loved for almost two years.  We had been so blessed to serve under two inspiring mission presidents and their lovely wives and we had seen our testimonies grow along with the investigators, new members and especially the wonderful young missionaries.  There is no experience in the world quite like serving the Lord full-time on a Senior Mission.  I am sure the friends and the memories we made will last through eternity.

The office was decorated so beautifully for Christmas.  There is a Christmas cactus that is beyond beautiful.  I have never seen such a large cactus full of so many lovely blooms

The tree also was very pretty thanks to the help of a couple of sister missionaries and our great
 office staff.

JoAnn was our all around helper.  She was always in great spirits and so fun to be around.  She cleaned the office and the mission home and helped with cooking, and anything else asked of her.

Our last day in the office Sister Calvert brought in one of her beautiful pastry creations (She was an amazing baker) and we had a tearful farewell.  My darling Reese Quist of the Dartmouth Wardd, who had adopted me as a pseudo grandma, stopped by the office to say goodbye.  I am surely going to miss her good hugs and the pretty pictures she would draw for me at church.

Our last big event before leaving Canada was a Christmas dinner with our Home Evening Group.  We were not the most faithful attendees due to our crazy schedule, but they always made sure we made it to the special events.  This night they honored us with a fun farewell including a cake with a road on it with street signs leading us home.

Sister Vince Vincent is the force behind this family home evening group and always has fun activities and good food!!  She is on the left with Sister Stuart seated.

The Tiffanys, DelaCruz, Wiebes and Sister Leavitt.  The sister at the end of the table was new to the group and I can't remember her name.
